*going through some of the comments* You know...surveys are often intentionally worded to be triggery, depending upon what exactly they're intending to measure. Especially if you're working through an ethnomethodological model and are attempting to challenge the way that people think about things.

Granted, I'd have to go through every question in order to determine if it was intentional or just wtf phraseology (and some things are just impossible to word without offending someone), but still...

Going by their responses, it wasn't intentional.

yeaaaah. I'm looking at those now that I'm not in between classes and only half paying attention, but it seems like that didn't have any concept of exactly what they were measuring before they wrote up the survey.

This sort of reminds me of two years ago when I wanted to examine self-imposed hierarchical structures within roleplaying communities until I realized that collecting data for that would be next to impossible because there is little to no formal structure for any of that but rather, it's based on a set of fundamental shared ideas and that not only the terminology but the way that it is approached varies across servers.

Sometimes there's only one sane response to FAIL:

Popcorn. And LOL.

Wait... that's two.

There are only two sane responses to FAIL:

Popcorn and LOL. And massive linking.

Ur, that's three. Can I come back in the thread and start over?
