Apparently fish is going to be harder to get - they're changing the laws for big fishing ships. I can't remember which is which but for trawling and setting nets they have to be either 2 or 4km away from shore, which is quite a long way.

I'm starting to get over the sick, sort of. I can walk around and swallow solid food. Which means... there's a fucking huge pile of dishes waiting for me to clean because my dad doesn't clean. At all. No laundry, no dishes, nothing. My brother and mother are both sick as well though my brother not quite so bad, he's been suffering through it and doing all his usual stuff anyway though he had an exam yesterday that apparently didn't go very well coz he didn't even get it finished. Sadface.

BL - I get this feeling like there's some basic fact or concept about life that Pepper just isn't quite in line with. He's also been a little disturbing the last couple of days, what with the kidnapping and assaulting and then today sketching a serial killer profile for Severus off a crime he committed while trying to convince him it was a DE. But I like that he's human at the same time as being outrageously creepy.

I also like the Sev is frantically worried about Astra and Astra is totally falling for him. Oh, the future dramas, they will be strong.

I have figured it out. It's a parental/authority figure, he grew up completely without one. That's even why he imprinted so strongly on Mill and why he always goes for strong women (Jo, Meaghan, obvs Mill, etc). And yes, that does make Pepper/Millicent (Pepnold? lol) even more twisted. Fantastic. I love it when it's twisted.

Incidentally the bit that got me really trying to figure out what it was that was missing was the privated part in this post. I love everything I've written in the last, say, three days. Fucking ace. Sometime when I have all this sorted in my head I'll probably do the whole character essay for him, just so it's straight out on paper and not a mess.

Sometimes posts explode unexpectedly. Other times you just know when you write something that it's going to end up huge. Like, when Pepper invites all the teenagers to ask questions about sex, and ends up with over 300 comments, not counting the original, already lengthy, conversation with Sirius on James' journal.

I re-added Aubrey to his friends list and set up a filter that's just Aubrey. This way Esh and I can do a casual PSL, because she was going crazy wanting to comment to that post but Esh + plot-based game = not really a good idea. Cue Aubrey asking about Pepper's sexlife and Pepper headdesking and the line, "For all I know "good" for you is ripping out your partners spine at the point of orgasm."

Also finished a second set of 7 Spells prompts which I'm quite frankly sort of amazed by even if I'm not entirely pleased with it because the commenting on that post was very distracting and went on all afternoon.

My fabric is on backorder and while I wait for it I'm starting one of my African women designs. They have no backstitch! It's all cross-stitch and half-stitch, which I am pleased by. It's not that I don't like backstitch, it's just a pain getting everything done and then realising you still have to do it - it's also a pain tucking the ends of the thread so they don't unstitch themselves, especially when you're starting a new one.

I now have officially RPed three generations of the same family, as I pick up Esther Smith post-marriage pre-Zacharias in a 1977 PSL. She's actually sort of adorable. She isn't really as repressed as some of the purebloods of the age, being from Germany, but she's emotionally quite sedate and a little insecure, especially since she's been married three years and all she's managed is a miscarriage. (And she's due one more before Zach's born, too.) I actually fiddled with her age a bit, she's about five years younger than she has been in Zacharias' timeline - in which she had him in her v early thirties. In Purism she's 24 and Abraham is probably early forties or so. I'm having fun finding her voice as an English-as-second-language speaker, too. :P

Also have had muy fun with Astra and Benjy today, Astra being all "lo, I am so young and sweet and innocent and naive! I don't lie in obvious fashions to defend a reputation that needs a miracle to save it! My word can obviously be trusted later when I give alibis to people who can actually be helped!" and Benjy getting incredibly worked up in Marlene's defense over Sirius talking about Remus having first dibs on her. Because you can't call dibs on women you respect, dammit! Bless him.

I only have three more episodes of Lost first season. D: It's sort of like crack, but not in the way the crappy soap opera is - CSO is a bad trip that you unfortunately keep going back to.

And I shall go back to writing now. I finished the 7spells set I was working on for Esh and now I'm writing an East/Ophelia for Raisa (with a title stolen from those prompts also - The Effects of Impact on Stationary Objects, which is suitably nerdy for them).

So the Ravenclaws of the Order invented an alert system for the Order to get everyone's attention when there's an attack or something they need to be at, and Gideon and Benjy decided it would just be a brilliant idea to test them out to make sure they worked.

6am, of course, being the perfect time.

Benjy is wide awake and loving it, especially as he has a natural +10 imperviousness to other people's annoyance due to living in the clouds.

It's always hilarious when RP pre-emptively imitates life. One of my original incarnations of Zacharias had problems with sleeping pills several months before the doctor even gave me any, for example. (I don't count him being Jewish and me thinking about converting because, well, researching it for him was how I got interested in it. That's more cause and effect than coincedence.) Today I was reminded of his disappearing act in Exsang and how much fun it was to play when he came back two and a half years later and decided he wanted to get back together with Terry. Poor, bemused Terry. I feel like going back and reading over that stuff.

Pepper's flat was eaten by rats. He's being skeevy in his journal now, and sadly even though there's a long line of green in my BL group on my buddy list, no one is posting. They don't seem to be at DD, either. Where's the RP, people?

I'm still feeling kind of flat. Some up moments, some not so up.

1. I'm eating watermelon right now. Nom nom. My daddy is keeping on buying them because they're cheap this time of year and we have three big ones in the baskets at the moment. FEAST of watermelon!
2. I don't take painkillers when I'm bleeding from the uterus because I don't want them to lose effect. Instead I bundle up in a fleece blanket and my lounging-around-home hoodie and fill a hot water bottle to relax the muscles. It's also snugglier.
3. Sometimes I think an airborne, highly contagious, highly fatal antibiotic-resistent plague should wipe out humanity so the animals can have the earth back.

5. I'm exceptionally prone to drifting off into fantasy worlds. It's why I RP, it's why I read so much, it's probably part of why I can have fun with silly things like wajas. I am, very much, a Pisces.
6. I'm also a river. That takes rather more explaining. Sometimes shallow and bubbly, singing merrily, sometimes deep, still, quiet, so that when you look into it you only see your own reflection. I wrote fic XD My Dear Watson, Pepper/Aubrey R rated fluff. Seeing as we've only had the characters a few days, I'd have to say that's the quickest I've ever actually written a character after starting to like them - normally I wibble helplessly and worry about getting them wrong.

And. Oh my god. OH MY GOD. *seizes* This is f-locked so mostly for my own reference. Nineteen by Esh. Pepper/Aubrey with an ELECTRIC OBEDIENCE COLLAR and the line,

They had tried it out -- or, more appropriately, Pepper had tried it out while Aubrey was asleep, resulting in Aubrey having a minor spasm and shouting every conceivable curse known to man and a few otherwise and Pepper responding with "So twenty is too high? Let's try nineteen."

I may be going out and being social. Maybe. There is watermelon being used as a lure.

It's official. I'm desperately, hopelessly in love with Pepper and Aubrey, and I am not the only one.

I edited and posted my hp_wankfest piece, and showed it to Raisa, which made her want to write, which made me want to write, so I did the Justin+Zacharias=Independence challenge drabble. *sighs* *pets them*

I've also done some more sewing, and I lugged my mattress back down this morning so I have a real bed again. Sleeping on the floor was actually fun though - as I'd predicted, it felt like camping out. My muscles ache a bit from moving so much furniture so quickly yesterday though - I was/will be paid for two and a half hours, but it took an hour and a quarter, including dismantling the bed, so that's not too bad. I'm aiming to not spend any unnecessary money, and if I stick to that, then on my biobirthday I'll be getting myself a present.

I have also given in to pleas and joined a Marauder era game. I retrofitted my Liam Vaisey that sadly never got into play, renamed him Octavius Pepper, gave him a job as a hitwizard and got all up in Blurred Lines. Esh also has a hitwizard, Aubrey, who is Pepper's new ickle wee partner. He is totally Pepper's puppy. And Raisa plays Emmeline and Claire and Ashley are both there, and Mango which I assume is the same Mango I've played with before, but not so extensively that we're all jumping on each other. It's more a sort of in passing thing. But the new Remus player also seems exceptionally cool. In general, I'm pretty optimistic about it - it's also much more active than DD, though Neph and Victoria have been getting all girl-talky over there and it's fantastic. And Ruth wants to RP with me so we have to decide what to log. I'm quite tempted by Harry+Zacharias snark, to be honest.

Anyway. I have to finish making my bed - I put the electric blanket on the mattress, and the fitted sheet, and that's it so far.
