Turns out a bunch of my fanvids that were on the computer that died are also still on my vidders account. (I think you need a log in to see them so this is partly/mostly a note for me lol.) I have NO IDEA how to download them, but they're there! And some of the old ones are actually not nearly as terrible as I remember.

Vid: Cloudy Now

THIS IS NOT A TORCHWOOD VID. This is for my other show! Which people should watch, because Patrick is fucked up and hilarious and awesome, and Cho is pretty awesome also, and Grace is pretty adorable. (I'm bouncy and giggly because my sister and me went to a concert and WE DRANK ALL THE GALLIANO. ALL OF IT.)

Title: Cloudy Now
Artist: Blackfield
Notes: The Mentalist character vid for Patrick Jane.

alllllll byyyyyyy myyyyyyysel-el-elf

I feel bereft all of a sudden. D: I took my bunner to the vet to have his teeth done and signed the forms for sedation and now he is gone probably for about six hours. I left some parsley with him, not sure if he'll eat it, he hasn't in the past seemed to like eating in strange places but he hasn't been away this long before.

Also a sad Jack Harkness vid to Moby )

Also I should decide what I'm doing with RPing. I think I've essentially dropped through inactivity all my games except BL anyway. And I liked Gusgus... but god, it's tough right now. And BL even only has six weeks left so if I kept Pepper and Astra and probably Florence (though would have to get off my arse and figure out exactly where she's at) I could probably manage to get through to the end, because being a stupid wimp and dropping out this close would be dumb.

Also, I would kind of like to RP Ianto.

Also again, I have a Sims house with Martha, Ianto and Jack, and the first things Ianto and Jack did were have a pillow fight and admire each other. Jack also frequently has the want "change into undies" and while on a date with Ianto had the want "ask sim on date". It's like they know him!

What am I listening to?

Only four six songs because that's how many Multiply lets me upload at a time and I'm lazy, but they're all from Scrubs.

1) Old 97s - Question
This is the song that's playing in the scene where Turk proposes to Carla for the last time in the park and she accepts. Apparently they had the song chosen all along and actually built the scene around it. It's absolutely lovely, anyway.

2) The Blanks - Eight Days A Week
Ted's band! It's just a short clip from the wedding reception and starts with Ted's line, "Hi, we haven't used instruments for a long time, so bear with us if we're a little rusty." According to some of the audio commentaries, Ted's band was controversial on set - some people thought it was funny, some didn't. Whatever, I like them.

3) The Blanks - Somewhere Over the Rainbow
From the episode My Day Off, which of course has about a million Wizard of Oz references, from the Janitor painting lines in the corridors to the Janitor's "Oil! Oil!", Jordan being referred to as the Wicked Witch of the East Wing, Cox telling Carla to ignore the man behind the curtain... etc. It's a great episode and this song finishes it off.

4) Colin Hay - Waiting For My Real Life to Begin
This isn't the version of the song that's actually on the show. There, it's sung by one of the guest starts who's on the waiting list for a heart transplant but dies before she can get one. Colin Hay songs turn up a lot, and of course the first episode of the second season actually opens with a musical section in which Colin Hay himself appears and follows JD around the hospital singing.

5) Francis Dunnery - Good Life
I can't actually say for sure, but I think this is from season two, My Own Private Practice Guy. I do know that the scene it plays in is when Cox is looking at old photos etc from when he and Jordan were first married. In particular I remember her walking down a set of stairs in her wedding dress looking very pretty. I also love love love this song about as much as Question.

6) Dominican
One of my favourite dance numbers from a musical. :D The tango from My Musical that had to be filmed about six weeks after the rest, because Judy Reyes had hurt her hip and couldn't walk when they filmed MM. That's why she's sitting down for almost the entire episode.

It should probably be disturbing that I can give information about basically every song in my Scrubs playlist off the top of my head. I don't care. *snuggles Scrubs*

Where does a butterfly go when it rains?

I have come to the conclusion that 90% of the wizarding population lives in caravans out the back of the large estates owned by the higher quarter. Why? Well, Hogsmeade is the only all-wizarding village in Britain. Let's say it has a population of 100 or so. Diagon Alley, a single street, and Knockturn Alley, a single street that no one respectable visits, seem to be the commercial and business hub of the entire country.

But aside from Muggleborns and halfbloods with a lot of Muggle blood, most wizards have little to no contact with Muggles. Sure, some of them are rich enough to live in big houses way out in the country. There's at least three families in Ottery St Catchpole, too (all of whom seem to be fairly pureblooded). But as OSC is quite obviously not Hogsmeade, it follows that Muggles live there. And yet the Weasleys are completely unknowledgeable about them. 12 Grimmauld Place is smackdab in the middle of London - it's possible that it's in a wizarding area, but it's implied that it's not, that instead the house is surrounded by Muggle houses, and yet it's occupied by a very anti-Muggle pureblood family who apparently have no desire whatsoever to mix with Muggles, ever.

Do people never go outside or something? Maybe they just floo merrily from place to place, happily ignoring the fact that they're in the middle of a world they apparently no absolutely nothing about despite the fact that it's impossible to ignore it if they step outside the front garden.

Post vomit

I have finished both my apps for Locum, as Sheena informed me that they know how I write so I don't have to do all the writing samples. Of course I'd already done one of them, but it saves writing the other three. We were being mighty silly, as we do, and I commented that for the "Experience" bit in the OOC info I put "RP Experience (links if possible): I have no experience. I have never arrpeed before. *crycry*"

It is slightly funny to think that Sheena and I have talked almost every day for the last year. Except when she went on holiday.

Just to be random, this is some of the music I'm listening to right now. The first one on there, Calling Again, is by a band I used to love when I was in high school, and in fact the original three members used to go to my high school and one of them went to church with me. Of course after their first album they toured America and when they came back they'd turned into just another drossy pop band, but the first album was great.

And as I said last night I've found some of my old poetry. It is here for your reading pleasure. Apart from ee cummings, feel free to guess which poet I really liked at the time. :P It's most obvious in the last one, and partly in cartography.

Second Love (Poem for the Night) )

Eastern Lust Triptych )

How to Catch a Butterfly )
